INTRODUCING THE BAD CHALLENGE DJ BATTLE ONLINE EDITION. BACK IN 2017 WE INTRODUCED A DJ BATTLE TO IMPACT A NEW GENERATION OF DJAYS. NOW WE’RE BACK! GRAND PRIZE $300.

THE RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  • SUBMIT A 1 MINUTE open-format INSTAGRAM REEL. MUST SUBMIT AS A REEL!

  • YOUR VIDEO MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH INTERNAL AUDIO. NO CAMERA AUDIO.

  • IN YOUR CAPTION PLEASE include “@THEBADCHALLENGE SUBMISSION” & INCLUDE THE HASHTAG #BADCHALLENGE22

  • PLEASE TAG @THEBADCHALLENGE @DJMIKECOOL in your reel.

  • send your reel as a direct message to @thebadchallenge. this is to ensure your submission does not get lost.

  • The judging will be based on the following: 

    • Technical Skill (What dj techniques you used to make your set flow and transition well, etc.)

    • Creativity (Diverse song selection, use of dj tricks, etc.) 

    • Originality (How unique is your set?)

    • Stage presence (How interactive and engaging were you?)

    • JUST BE DOPE!

  • ALL SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE FEB 5, 2022 BY MIDNIGHT

  • THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FEB 13, 2022.

THE PAST DJ BATTLE RULES - IN REAL LIFE!

Competition

After the competing DJs have been introduced, numbers 1-10 will be drawn out of a hat by the competitors to determine the order of the performances.

There will be two rounds total.

Round 1: 5 minute open-format set. 

Two best djs will then move up to round 2 

Round 2: 2 minute open-format set.

Judging

Both rounds judged by DJ Jazzy Jim (@jazzymix), BOOKING MANAGER AT HOLY COW SF. DJ QUEST.

The judging will be based on the following: 

  • Technical Skill (What dj techniques you used to make your set flow and transition well, etc.)

  • Creativity (Diverse song selection, use of dj tricks, etc.) 

  • Originality (How unique is your set?)

  • Stage presence (How interactive and engaging were you with your crowd?)

  • Crowd reaction (How did the crowd respond and react to your set?)

You can earn up to 5 points per category. You will be scored accordingly. You can earn a maximum of 25 points per round per judge. Two djs with the highest score in round 1 will move on to round 2. In the event that there are more than 2 djs tied in points scored, they will move on to the second round.
